Here's how we spent Youth Day

This year, we marked Youth Day by turning back the clock. The Global Choices team dusted off their old school uniforms and blazers, and for one morning, the office was full of tunics, ties, knee-high socks and more than a few school badges that had seen better days. There was a lot of laughter, a fair amount of "I can't believe that still fits," and a wonderful reminder that the spirit of youth never really leaves us.

But beneath the fun was something we take seriously. So much of what we do is for young South Africans - the student stranded on the road late at night, the first-time parent facing an emergency at home, the young professional navigating a crisis they never saw coming. Being the calm voice and the steady hand for that generation is a privilege we don't take lightly.

Youth Day reminds us that adding to life means showing up for the people who are just getting started - and standing with them, wherever the road takes them.

To the youth of South Africa: today, and every day, we're on your side.
